Who are we?
Meet Ryan
Ryan is the proud owner of Captain Jelli's, while his wife, Laura, owns our sister swim school, The Jelli Swim Academy.
With many years of experience as a mainstream swimming teacher, Ryan also specialises in teaching swimmers with neurodiverse needs and disabilities. His expertise, passion, and "all hands on deck" approach make him an invaluable part of every swimmer's journey.
Ryan has developed a bespoke Captain Jelli's swimming programme that celebrates every achievement, no matter how big or small. To recognise these milestones, we proudly partner with Watch Me Awards.

Watch Me Awards
We believe all milestones should be celebrated - not just big stages! That's why we have partnered with Watch Me Awards to encourage your child on their swimming journey.
Our Programmes
Ship Mates (Path to Progression) 3+
A beginners lesson for children who lack confidence and need the support of a parent/carer in the water with them.
Voyagers (Beginners) 4+
A class for beginners and less confident swimmers, this class aims to work on confidence building, basic swimming skills and water safety practises. Equivalent of S.E Stage 1&2
Seafarers (Skills) 4+
A class for children who can swim independently but need to work on their stroke technique. This class has elements of water safety, water rescues and stroke development. Children need to be able to swim 10m unaided and put their face in the water to enter this class.
Equivalent of S.E Stage 3&4
Captains (advanced) 4+
A class for children who can swim at least 25m on their front and back unaided, this class focuses on stroke definition, water safety skills and key skills like tumble turns, surface dives etc.
Equivalent of S.E Stage 5&6
Wayfinders 4+
Rookie lifeguarding & pre-club. This class is by invitation only.
Equivalent of S.E Stage 7
Navigators 3+
Private and semi-private lessons for children who need extra support in the water.
